JAZZ BANDS
Jazz I
Los Alamitos High School Jazz I is recognized as one of the top jazz ensembles in the region. This group focuses on traditional and modern jazz compositions as well as music theory, music history, and improvisation.
Performances include the annual winter and spring concerts, All-District Festival, Southern California Jazz festivals, Monterey NGJ Festival, Reno Jazz Festival, and various community performances. Students are also involved in small group jazz combos at this particular level.
Placement in to this ensemble is through audition only.
Jazz II
Los Alamitos High School Jazz II is an advanced jazz ensemble which focusses on traditional and modern jazz compositions as well as music theory, music history, and improvisation.
Performances include the annual winter and spring concerts, All-District Festival, Southern California Jazz festivals, Reno Jazz Festival, and various community performances. Students are also involved in small group jazz combos at this particular level.
Placement in to this ensemble is through audition only.
Jazz III
Los Alamitos High School Jazz III is a high school intermediate jazz ensemble which focusses on traditional and modern jazz compositions as well as music theory, music history, and improvisation.
Performances include the annual winter and spring concerts, All-District Festival, Southern California Jazz festivals. Students are also involved in small group jazz combos at this particular level. Jazz III is open to all students enrolled to Los Alamitos High School.
No audition is required.
